  • Contact your hosting provider and ask them to restore your website from backups. Choose the latest backup they have but it should be before June 1, 2015, 4:13 am.

Also check your databases with phpmyadmin, see if you still have the database: mosstota_wp281

Did you make any backups before installing/updating?

Thank you for the quick response!

I contacted the hosting provider (softaculous via cPanel at WebHostingPad).

On PhPMyAdmin, I still have the mosstota_wp281 database. I then logged into PhPMyAdmin and found the database. It has a folder called wp_posts. The files seem to be there.

Yes, I backed up right before the upgrade and uninstall/reinstall. It was a backup installation.

Is there a way to restore the database/backup to the upgraded WordPress?

I’m not familiar with restoring backups so I apologize in advance. I really appreciate the help though.

You have contacted your web host to restore your website from their backups. So any work we do now on your blog will be gone when the restore is done.

You cant use the old database on your new upgraded WordPress.

What your doing is wrong, upgrade is upgrade. Its not uninstall and then reinstall.

When your old site/blog is back online “after the backup Restore”. Login wp-admin and you should see:

An updated version of WordPress is available.

There is a button under it called Update Now, click it and follow the instructions.

NEVER EVER post your passwords on a public forum!

When the restore is complete, change your MySQL password IMMEDIATELY!

Also edit your first post and remove the passwords now!
