    Hello David –

I’ve been experimenting with your plugin – what an amazing feature set!

My use case is probably quite typical – I need to add a photo credit field, to eventually display on the front end. I do a lot of batch processing in Adobe Bridge, so its easy to add this the metadata of the image before uploading. That’s what brought me to your plugin.

I also use the Types plugin (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/types/) to handle a lot of functionality on my site. Im having trouble mapping the EXiF data to a field created by types, and having it percolate to the custom field group I’ve associated with the media library.

I understand that I this may not make sense if you’re not familiar with Types – but I thought I’d ask to see if anyone else has run into this particular problem.

Thanks for the kind words and for your question. As you suspected, I do not have any experience with the Types plugin. Plugins like Types (and Advanced Custom Fields) add their own database structures and content enhancements to implement more “advanced” custom field support (checkboxes, etc.).

I have done some work with Advanced Custom Fields and there are two MLA examples in the /media-library-assistant/examples directory; mla-acf-checkbox-example.php.txt and mla-advanced-custom-fields-example.php.txt. Perhaps one of them can be adapted to your application. You can find more information in this earlier topic:

    Advanced Custom Fields repeater

If you can tell me how to reproduce your Types “custom field group” I can investigate the work required to map image metadata to the Types fields using MLA mapping rules. Any additional information you can give me would be helpful.

It has been a month since my last post in this topic and I have seen nothing further. I assume you have found a solution to your photo credit mapping application.

I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if there is anything else I can do to help. Thanks for your interest in the plugin.
