  • Hi remery!

You can try installing the WordPress SEO plugin and enabling Open Graph meta tags under SEO → Social → Facebook: https://d.pr/i/QMX9

Even though the setting is for Facebook, Open Graph tags can help LinkedIn and other social networks to find your post titles. (You may need to wait 24-48 hours for LinkedIn’s cache to clear after activating the tags, then try resharing your post after that time.)

If you still have trouble after making this change, feel free to send a link to the problem post – I’d be happy to take another look for you.

Hi Nick! Thanks for the feedback on this. I need a more light-weight solution than Yoast. I’m on the Genesis framework, so all my seo needs are met (except open graph) what I can see. Do you have any suggestions on something just specific to open graph protocol?

WordPress SEO is what the Copyblogger blog (a Genesis child theme) uses for OG tags, and the LinkedIn buttons are working great there: https://www.copyblogger.com/blog

But you could certainly try one of the Open Graph only plugins, such as OG:

Yeah, I’ll take a closer look at that. But honestly man, Yoast is a heavy, glommy plugin. It’s almost like a resource sucking virus. I like light weight, native seo which genesis has pre-built. You need a ton more resources to run Yoast imo.

I’ve activated the OG plugin and the tags seem to meet requirements the same as glommy Yoast does. ‘og:title, og:description’ etc.

We’ll see if that helps Linkedin pull the data. I’ll wait a few days for cache to clear.
