Some images not displaying properly — they start to, and then collapse

I am having a problem that some images in my gallery will display just fine, and others initially show up as the full image, and then collapse to a small horizontal line near the top. It seems to be the same # image in the slideshow when I reorder, and not the image itself that’s the problem. It does NOT seem to happen in Safari, but does happen in Chrome.
