Hi, are you running the latest version of CF7? (v. 4.2)

I can confirm the fatal error as well – I received the admin white screen of death as soon as I updated. I am currently running version 4.2 of CF7.

Strange. It seems this has popped up in the CF7 support forms as well. See this post. Please report back if that leads anywhere, as Takayuki Miyoshi (creator of CF7) believes it’s a problem with another plugin.

Hm it’s possible that is related – I tried updating your plugin on a different site that was running CF7 Version 4.1.2 and I still got the white screen. Thoughts?

FIXED – At least for me. I had the previous version of CF7 and thought that was the latest version as the Plugins area told me it was. I then updated my WordPress to the latest version and then the update for CF7 appeared. Updated that and it works fine now.

I’m working on a fix right now that should address these issues and offer backwards compatibility.

Glad to hear it – I just updated the site to the newest WP version and then updated CF7 and the Honeypot module after that, and now everything is working again. Seems as though everything is OK now?

Should be all fixed in the new version (1.7). See this post for details.

Awesome – thanks for taking care of it!

I dont understand how to fix it.
No matter where I touch in the admin area I recieve the message of fata error.
What should I do to be able to fix it?
    Tnx a lot

    Hi Emily,

What versions are CF7 and CF7-Honeypot are you using? If you’re not using Honeypot 1.7, be sure to update to that.

If you’re not able to access your admin area at all, then you need to manually remove the plugin. Simply login to your site’s FTP and go to /wp-content/plugins and remove (or move) the /contact-form-7-honeypot/ folder. Then you should be able to update (reinstall) the CF7 Honeypot plugin from the WP admin area.

Hi Ryan and thank you for your prompt response.

    This is the exact message:
Fatal error: Class ‘WPCF7_TagGenerator’ not found in /home/healthyrelations/public_html/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7-honeypot/honeypot.php on line 109

I’ve tried to do that from the ftp line but have not succeeded.

I’ll appreciate if you can instruct me again as I’m not so familiar with programming etc

    Thank you very much

    Ryan

Good news, no programming required ??

Do you have any access to your WP Admin area? If so, make sure you are updated to the latest version of CF7 Honeypot (it would be version 1.7). You can check the version from the Plugins area.

If you’re not able to access your admin area,

    1. Download CF7 Honeypot v1.7.
    2. Unzip it somewhere on your computer. You should have a /contact-form-7-honeypot/ folder now on your computer.
    3. Login to your FTP for the site and navigate to /wp-content/plugins/
    4. Copy the /contact-form-7-honeypot/ folder you unzipped in step 2 into the /plugins/ folder (overwriting the one that’s there).

Check and see if there error is gone.

    Dear Ryan,

Unfortunately I left it because I didn’t succeed to make it. I now want to make some changes in my site content and I can’t.
    I think I don’t do well something in step. 3 or 4.
When I log to my FTP, the row on the top, do I write it like that but I get and 404 error:
    https://www.healthyrelationship.co.il/wp-content/plugins/C:/Users/1/Downloads/contact-form-7-honeypot.1.7%20(1)/contact-form-7-honeypot.
    What do I do wrong?
Can you let me know exactly what I have to write or copy?
If this is ok with you I can give you my password
    Thank you very very much
    Emily
