I can't change my favicon

  • I wasn’t happy with the first icon so I chose another one. I wasn’t happy with that icon either so I chose another one.

    According to my dashboard, the third one is my icon but the browser I created my icon in is still showing the first icon even after emptying the cache.

    In two other browsers, the second image I used is showing up and when I check my icon on your site, it shows me the second icon, not the third.

  • I am seeing a picture of your face – like the image you are using here. Is the first, second or third favicon?

    Yes, that is the correct icon. It’s actually my fourth icon. I am still unable to see it in Firefox and IE though. Chrome refreshed finally but Firefox is the browser I use and it’s still stuck on the first icon. I cleared the cache on my WordPress site and it my browsers but FF is stuck on the first icon and IE is still stuck on the second (the icon that was up the first time I looked at my site in IE).

    I am concerned that if I change my icon in the future, other people will be stuck with a cached version as I am now with FF and IE.

    Have you restarted the browser and/or restarted your computer? Sometimes that clears it up. I usually use Firefox and for some reason don’t see the change until I restart the browser. I have more trouble with Firefox than other browsers in seeing the change but don’t know why.
