• By process of elimination I think I have tracked the issue down to ZenCache post last update (possible a Firefox issue too?)

    For the contact form I use: Contact Form 7 Version 4.2 matched with Really Simple CAPTCHA Version 1.8.0.1.

    It stopped working and I was getting a validation error. I think the issue is that the CAPTCHA image was being cached – hence the validation error.

    I’ve got the contact form working again: https://www.bajanthings.com/contact-burts/

    To do this I have deactivated:
    * WP Edit – Version 3.2
    * WP Retina 2x – Version 3.3.6 (Other forums suggested Retina 2 was the issue but deactivating them didn’t fix my Contact7 problem. With Firefox it looked as if the CAPTCHA image was being cached and not changing on a page refresh. Disabling ZenCache got me back up and running)
    * ZenCache Version 150409

    It all used to work. The only addition in recent weeks was the addition of WP Edit & WP Retina 2x which were recommended installs by the Weaver Xtreme template designers. So they were the first things I deactivated. ZenCache and its predecessor have been running since the site was set up.

    Any ideas?

    Been playing more. It’s definitely a ZenCache issue. As soon as I enable ZenCache the Really Simple CAPTCHA image caches if your reload page so you get a validation error as the two part are the CAPTCHA code the generated and input are out of synch.

    The odd thing is they used to work nicely togther. This is something new that has happened.

    <p>CAPTCHA challenge-response code (required below) <br />
        [captchac captcha-603 bg:#FFFFF0 fg:#660000 size:l] </p>

    <p>Please enter the characters from the CAPTCHA code above (required) <br />
        [captchar captcha-603] </p>

    @decimus Thanks so much for the detailed report.

    We have a GitHub Issue open already to work on this compatibility issue with Contact Form 7. See: https://github.com/websharks/zencache/issues/500

    We also have a GitHub issue open to improve compatibility with the Really Simple CAPTCHA plugin. See: https://github.com/websharks/zencache/issues/499

    I’m adding a link to your www.ads-software.com support thread here and will come back here to leave an update as soon as progress is made on either one of those issues. ??

    @decimus Thanks so much for the offer! ?? If you’re interested in testing a beta release of ZenCache before the next version comes out, please sign-up to be a beta tester here.

    almost same with us, when we use ReCaptcha (in any form plugin). With Caching, it seems to show always just the selection via pictures instead of self-testing.

    We now excluded the pages from caching where we use ReCaptcha, but may be there is a solution for this problem in ZenCache (what we really like) in the future?
