• Hi,

I have in the past succesfully used Custom Upload Dir but now I am quite perplexed: I want the upload folder to mirror the %permalink% structure which is /%category%/%postname%/.

    CUD is set to /%permalink%

The result with testing is …/tt-regeln/wp-content/uploads/material/werden-plastikbaelle-pflicht which is indeed mirroring the permalink for the post (…/tt-regeln/material/werden-plastikbaelle-pflicht/).

However, images are uploaded broken and with the address of /tt-regeln/wp-content/uploads/material/?p=9/(filename). 9 IS the ID of the post in question.

The other options seem to work – only tried category; basic upload without post is fine. Weirdly, in another post, it works fine. Only difference: The non-working post has 2 categories.

(deleted idea; testing showed: change does not fix it)

That’s no intended behaviour, obviously. I’ll take a look at it.

Incidentally, and absolutely weirdly, I just retried it … and the upload worked nicely.

Which startles me as much as anybody else. I did not change anything, not even text, in the interim. So my best guess is some strange, unexpected server-side issue or delay in settings or whatever.

So probably solved/unrelated: unknown other issue at core. Sorry for the false alarm, but it looked like the plugin was responsible as other parts worked.

Thanks for getting back to us. Might it be that you were uploading files to a post that wasn’t named and saved yet?

Negative – I am aware of that problem and have been avoiding it for the better part of two years.
In this case I saved it multiple times with definite custom URLs. My best guess is the same as before. I’ll post again if I have anything hinting in some direction or conclusive as to what causes this.

As is, I remain clueless – thanks for your support!

I’m experiencing this same issue. It seems that there is some sort of delay before the permalink becomes available. Were either of you ever able to identify a way around this?
