Static Page – Comics In Seperate Directory?
-
First off, I’m using Comicpress and Comic Easel.
So I’m wanting to put an Static/Entrance page on my site, particularly this one (or one like it)-
https://www.vermillionworks.com/daniel/enterTechnically, I can do it fine. I know how to disable the comic stuff on the homepage and put ?latest in the url, but I’m afraid what’s going to happen with some people is they’ll click the “Read the Latest” link and then bookmark THAT page so they can avoid the static page in the future. Basically, once the comic updates again, they’ll be bookmarked on an old page in the archives and may think the comic is no longer updating. XP If they want the newest page they’ll have to click that “Latest” static page link every time.
So what I’m wondering is is it possible to have my comics in a seperate directory and have the entrance link to that? Like the main page is still https://www.vermillionworks.com/daniel, but the “Latest” goes to https://www.vermillionworks.com/daniel/story or something.
Mind you, I know…SOME things about editing Word/Comicpress but am definitely no coding expert. I imagine I have to move things around in the FTP and maybe mess with the .htaccess? That and I might have to make the static page not connected to WordPress so things don’t get confusing? (A seperate page with no WordPress theme, something I make 100% myself.) I don’t know, I’m TOTALLY guessing, which is why I didn’t want to try anything without asking.
If you think it’d be way too complicated to change around, I’ll either pass on the static page or just stick to the “?latest” url link in spite of the issue, just wondering!
