Please help me, this is the second time I have asked this as I had no suggestions on my first query.

When I updated to 4.2.1 (subsequently updated to 4.2.2) I have lost the ability to add any new images to the media library. The images appear to load, but only display like a broken link. I know they are actually uploading successfully though, as if i click on the broken image link and press on edit image, the image displays, but it will not display in any other way, in the media library, nor on the actual published site.

Also, if I go into and edit any of the images I had already uploading prior to the update and then save them, they also save ‘broken’.

I have tried to disable all plugins and also changed to a default theme with no change.

    my website is

    thanks for any help…

    Try:
Go to Admin -> Settings -> Media and make sure both the Store uploads in this folder and Full URL path to files entries are blank and Save Changes.

Sorry to hear you’re having issues with 4.2.2.

You may want to try a manual update of WordPress: download the latest version of WordPress to your desktop, unzip, and then re-upload via FTP/SFTP to the server and replace the existing WordPress files **except the ‘uploads’ folder and ‘wp-config.php’ file**. Sometimes automatic updates don’t completely work on the rare occasion and a manual update can help fix things up.
