• Hey,

Thanks to all who respond. This is a bit outside my knowledge zone so bear with me.

Client wants folks to register for their Tennis Tournaments through their website. They have probably 10 tournaments in the fall.

For each tournament – they NEED to know:

    Name of player
    Age
    Guardian
    Address
    Email
    Phone
Session(s) (radio button or check box)
    —Then numerically—
    Session Fee
    Additional Court Fees
    Total
    ———————-
    That is for ONE person.
Each additional person (say family members) would also have the same questions to answer and fees. So things begin to add up.
    ———————-
There would also be a waiver that HAS to be downloaded for the transaction to take place.
    ———————-
After that – they want people to pay through PayPal only.

I am fairly well versed with WordPress. I just don’t know how to start. Is this a shopping cart? Does Paypal provide this depth? Is this an event registration plugin.

I’m sort of floundering in information overkill as to HOW to approach this.

So I thought I would reach out and ask how people might best approach it. Options for me to investigate.

That’s all. I really appreciate the help. Thanks!

We do many of these complex registration form with Gravity Forms. It’s a paid plugin but offers many of the features you will need.

For instance, you can conditionally display some fields, so you can ask the registrant “Register other family members?” and only display the additional fields if the answer is yes.

Instead of a downloaded waiver, use Gravity Forms’ signature field to take the signature, and only allow the payment to process if that required field is completed.

Use the free plugin Gravity Forms PDF to export the submission as a PDF — preserving the signature of the participant/parent.

Gravity Forms has an addon to use PayPal for payments that works pretty well. If they are going to be doing quite a bit of transactions however, I always recommend to my clients that an SSL and Stripe.com is the better option for payment processing– far fewer “issues” and looks more professional.

Bet – you are a lifesaver. The client is wondering where I have gone too. I told him that to do it inexpensively takes some footwork.

A paid version of gravity forms is not an issue. I will look up stripe.com

I may write back with questions. THANKS! I really appreciate it!
