Fatal Error. Need cookie?

  • Hi there.. know you love gettting these ?? so sorry I gotta tell you this and add to the workload.

    Just did an update to plugin and got a:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function cconover\FeaturedImageCaption\add_meta_box() in C:\Users\Sunni\Documents\Websites\www.southview.dev\wp-content\plugins\featured-image-caption\classes\MetaBox.php on line 22

    ** I can *only* get the fatal warning right now — cannot log out
    ** When I go to dev site (local) I get:
    Warning: Missing argument 1 for cconover\FeaturedImageCaption\Shortcode::shortcode(), called in C:\Users\Sunni\Documents\Websites\www.southview.dev\wp-content\plugins\featured-image-caption\classes\Hooks.php on line 96 and defined in C:\Users\Sunni\Documents\Websites\www.southview.dev\wp-content\plugins\featured-image-caption\classes\Shortcode.php on line 18

    Fatal error: Call to undefined method cconover\FeaturedImageCaption\Shortcode::caption_data() in C:\Users\Sunni\Documents\Websites\www.southview.dev\wp-content\plugins\featured-image-caption\classes\Shortcode.php on line 33

    I went into phpmyadmin and ran check. no errors. ran repair anyway but of course ..no errors/no fix

    I was going to go into the dir and remove the plugin manually but wanted to check with you before doing so. Any other dependencies or is a simple removal of the file safe to do?

    If not, other suggestions?

    I went ahead and renamed the plug-in’s folder and that resulted in my regaining access to admin.

    Will try to re-install tomorrow but not sure of cause of the crash. Any clues?

    Thanks for the report! Of course I’d certainly rather not hear that things aren’t working properly, but when there’s an issue I’m glad to know about it.

    That first error you got is a little baffling as add_meta_box() is a native WordPress function, so I’m not sure why it’s saying it’s undefined. I’ll do some further testing to see if I can track down why it’s saying that.

    As far as the errors related to the shortcode, I think I’ve found the bugs causing those so I should have them patched with a new release today or tomorrow.

    Version 0.8.0 fixes the shortcode errors you were seeing. Please update the plugin to the latest version and see if it is fixed for you.

    Hi Christian —

    Steps I took:
    1. deleted plug-in folder that I had renamed
    2. refreshed screens — all worked fine
    3. reinstalled latest version of plug-in and activated

    Checked db again. Alls well there.

    I’m running featured video Plus. It fusses with featured image. Wonder? They were playing nicely together but perhaps an update created the conflict.. just brainstorming..

    what can I do to help you debug?
