Relevance of search results

    When I search for a string (for example, Sales Director), the results at the top are the not the most relevant. See for example (screen shot sent). In this example, the top result has the word ‘Director’ many times but the word ‘Sales’ only once and a long way from the word Director in about 1,000 words of text. Whereas results much lower in the list have more relevant terms more often and closer together. Is it possible to get the most relevant results at the top of the search?

    To the left there is a drop down box which defaults to ‘newest’ – is this what is causing the problem and if so is it possible to remove this from the page or change the options so that relevance is at the top?

    Your suggestion about the “order by” list looks sensible indeed:
    – Control whether or not the list should be displayed at all
    – Control which item in the list should be applied by default to a search
    – Control which list item should be displayed, and in which order
    – Add a “Relevancy” item in the list

    A UI similar to the facets settings UI should be great.
