PHP Fatal Error

    Hi,
    I am getting Fatal error:

    PHP Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: call_user_func_array(): Argument #1 ($callback) must be a valid callback, non-static method WooCommerce\PayPalCommerce\Button\Assets\SmartButton::button_renderer() cannot be called statically in <path>/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php:303

    Error happens when I am trying to access any product page. PayPal buttons are DISABLED on all pages except checkout.

    I think, it started to happen after upgrade of plugin to 1.6.3.
    I tried to switch the theme to twentytwentyone — same problem.

    WooCommerce 5.9, WP is at the latest. Running PHP8

    At the moment, I disabled the plugin to get site back.

    Any ideas what is wrong?

    Previous plugin versions can be downloaded from the bottom of this page: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/woocommerce-paypal-payments/advanced/
    This error may be a conflict caused by an interaction with another plugin if the problem does not persist when you disable all plugins except for WooCommerce and PayPal Payments.
    To better judge what could be causing this, we would need a copy of your WooCommerce system report. The system report can be accessed from here:
    WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support

    Basically, plugin is not compatible with PHP 8 and will not be for a while

    To clarify, PayPal Payments is officially compatible with PHP 8, but the specific combination of PayPal Payments, PHP 8, and the Avada Builder plugin may be causing the reported error. According to our tests, the best workaround, for now, would be using an older PHP version like PHP7.4 until we have managed to include a potential solution in a future update.

    I am having the same issue, BUT my php version is 7.3 any help would be appreciated…

    There is NO solution yet, which is quite frustrating. It was a while…

    Options are:
    1. Drop PHP version to 7.3
    2. Drop this plugin and use original one. Yes, it is end of life, but it works. Or find another PayPal plugin that works.

    This should be working fine now with the latest version of the Avada theme/plugins so I’ll mark this thread resolved. We regret to hear this issue has taken so long but it was outside of our hands to address.

    Actually, I think the issue is still there. I just installed Woocommerce Fast Cart by Barn2 and get the same critical error. I initially thought it was just a conflict with Barn2’s plugin, but given other users are reporting it I think it more likely that the Barn2 plugin is just making a wider issue visible.

    It seems you guys still have a lot of bugs in this plugin to iron out? Please can you advise a fix that does not involve rolling back the PHP version?

    Inconceivable not to have paypal on the site.
    I installed it today 04/12/2022 with the latest version of avada.
    How do I solve the problem?
