Theme update isn't working w 4.2.2.
-
I just clicked on the update for Coraline, but I got an error msg about no files or directories. I contacted my host server and they recommended getting the old version of the theme. How do I do that?
I’m not techy what so over, so this is all very confusing.

Similar issue here, although at least my site’s still looking okay.
I presume the theme update is what’s lead to this warning popping up all over my dashboard:
“Warning: include(/home3/shingle/public_html/wp-content/themes/coraline/inc/updater.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home3/shingle/public_html/wp-content/themes/coraline/functions.php on line 517”How do I fix without switching theme?
I have the same issue. I tried deleting and reinstalling but that did not fix it. One thing I noticed is that it no longer will let me access my media library from the dashboard. But the images still display on my site. I first noticed the problem when I tried to add an image and it errored out.

My issues got worse. I couldn’t access my log in page at all.
I contacted my host server and they had to deactivate the theme for me.I went ahead and switched themes. Kinda bummed though, I really liked the way my site looked with Coraline.
Anyways, hope the authors of the theme are working on a fix for current users.
I have the same issue.
Warning: include(): Failed opening ‘D:\inetpub\webs\altomilanesenewscom\wordpress\wp-content\themes\coraline/inc/updater.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.;C:\php\pear’) in D:\inetpub\webs\altomilanesenewscom\wordpress\wp-content\themes\coraline\functions.php on line 517
Same here – multiple warnings relating to “failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /public_html/wp-content/themes/coraline/functions.php on line 517”
Does anyone know how to reinstall Coraline v1.5.0?
Hi all – whilst waiting for a fix for the issue with the functions.php file for v1.5.1, I replaced it with the functions.php v1.4.2. This has removed the line 517 error.
I’ve posted that I’m having these same issues.
How does one revert back to the hold version of this theme? I can’t seem to find a way to do that.
Thanks.
Sorry about this – we’ll get a fixed version uploaded soon and I’ll keep you posted here.
You can get the previous version of Coraline – 1.5 – here: https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/theme/coraline.1.5.zip
If you prefer, you may safely remove these three lines from the bottom of functions.php and that should also fix the issue:
// updater for WordPress.com themes if ( is_admin() ) include dirname( __FILE__ ) . '/inc/updater.php';
I switched theme… I’m actually quite liking the new theme, apart from the header image being too big and needing to sort a few text colours etc, but I think I can code wrangle that…
If that fails, I’m using Kathryn’s code hack!
I just deleted those lines and it’s back to normal for now.
Thanks for the help and I’ll keep an eye out for the new version with the fix included.
Rock on!
Version 1.5.2 of Coraline has just been submitted to the .org directory. Once it’s approved and made live, it will be available in your site’s dashboard, or at the theme’s usual Download link here in the directory.
Version 1.5.2 of Coraline is now available for installation. If anyone has any issues with it, just let me know.
Is the latest version now mobile friendly?
jskspirit – no, Coraline is not a responsive theme.
Ever since I updated to the latest version of Caroline to BabyBirdsFarm.com, I have been unable to log in to my site. I receive this error:
“Warning: include(/home/abbyburd/babybirdsfarm.com/wp-content/themes/coraline/inc/updater.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/abbyburd/babybirdsfarm.com/wp-content/themes/coraline/functions.php on line 517

I see how to remove the code above, but how can I do anything if I can’t even log into my site?
