Request error not JSON, newsletter not sending.

    At the send preview stage, we’re getting this error:

    Request error not JSON:<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">
<html><head>
<title>403 Forbidden</title>
</head><body>
<h1>Forbidden</h1>
<p>You don't have permission to access /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php
on this server.</p>
</body></html>

    And then the program hangs on the “Sending Preview” window. Debugging doesn’t bring up anything.

    Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

  • Looks like you have a Security Plugin that is preventing MailPoet to reach your AJAX url. Look for that.

    Deleted security plugins. Still showing same error. Debug not showing anything. The MailPoet plugin was working fine in previous weeks with no issues until after the latest update.

    Have you installed or updated any other new plugins since the last time it worked? Have you changed your theme? Can you try disabling any new plugins one-by-one and see if the issue is resolved?

    I’ve found the problem !

    I’ve installed the plugin from the wordpress plugin panel . The problem is installed wrong ! The folder / app / lib / wysija-newsletters / controllers / front was empty . Reinstalling the plugin wordpress system and not is solved .

    I downloaded manually from the web mailpoet and if that existed files within that folder. I have copied and everything working.

    See the bug/error because it will more people …

    So, how did you install exactly MailPoet? Did you download the .zip file from www.ads-software.com?

    I’m having a similar problem: I cannot edit the content of the newsletter (the modal page where we select the posts categorias and other stuff). The modal opens and when I click in “Done” it does nothing.

    With firebug I’m able to see “https://mydomain.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php 403 Forbidden”.

    I have this plugin (version 2.6.19 with WordPress 4.2.5) working, but in the latest 2 installs I got the same error.

    I tried:
    a) add in .htacces: SecFilterInheritance Off [source: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/dont-have-permission-admin-ajaxphp-add-new-category?replies=11%5D
    b) getting the files from the working install, but didn’t make effect (as I’m running the same plugin version)
    c) replacing admin-ajax.php with the one in working installation

    All of this without success.

    Does anyone have a clue to solve this?

    If these steps don’t work, get in touch with your host support.

    Tried and didn’t work.
    I got in touch and the host will adjust, I’m waiting to test.
