Not getting test log readout or emails

I have used this several times on other sites and it gives me the bool(true) or (false) in the logs when I test. On the current site I’m working on, it doesn’t show any logs at all and just takes me to the top of the page when I submit the test message. I’ve deactivated every plugin except wp mail smtp and it still does it. What could be interfering with it?
