newbie to wordpress ‘image view’ versus ‘code view’ for ‘write post’

I noticed on a flash demo that someone else had a way to see the code as an image, I took a screen shot so i could explain it better:

I would love to be able to see what im doing and also to know what all the code is up the top of the post instead of guessing. I’m such a non coder.
the reason is, I cant see the inline gallery tab, which is a plug in ive installed, on the pic, you see it on the far left hand side.
