take the short survey (answers don’t matter) and enter test name and email.

I have Mailchimp plugin 2.3.5, the latest one. I still get double-opt-in email, even with double-opt-in turned OFF in the plugin.

I’m sure I’m doing something wrong. Help?
    Thanks,

    Hello Shawn Dady,

I went through your source code as well as the survey and noticed that you are not using our form. Please note that we are not affiliated with MailChimp.com. We simply provide a bridge between your MailChimp.com account and your WordPress website so you can allow your users to subscribe directly on your website.

The code you are using on your website for the newsletter signup is not from our plugin. It’s a code directly created using MailChimp.com. So to disable double-opt you have to find it’s settings directly in your MailChimp.com account.

    Hello Harish.
    Thanks for your response.

Can you give me a little more guidance on disabling it in my mailchimp account? I cannot find out how to do that. And do they allow me to do that? I get conflicting information – some say yes, some say no on the internet. Need accuracy. (If the mailchimp PLUGIN lets you disable double-opt-in, I would think mailchimp corporate is okay with it?)

So 2 followup questions for you.

1.) Is it okay with mailchimp that I disable double-opt-in in my account?
2.) Need a bit more guidance on HOW to do that inside my mailchimp account. I cannot find it.

Thanks so much again for responding and for your expertise.

    Hello Shawn,

If the form was created using our plugin, you would have directly been able to disable double-opt in. But since you are using 3rd party form, I really can’t provide much information on the same. I would strongly recommend contacting support of MailChimp.com to give you the most accurate information regarding this.

As far as I know, reading this and my own account, when using the form created by MailChimp.com, there is no option to disable double-opt in. I have a free MailChimp.com account was not able to find any option.

I also came across this article which you might be interested https://kb.mailchimp.com/lists/signup-forms/the-double-opt-in-process/the-double-opt-in-process.

Double opt-in is good for security. If there are reasons for which you can not have it enabled, then one of your options would be to use 3rd party plugin such as ours to create the form.

    Thank you.

Regardless, the single opt-in is not working, using the plugin’s form.

    Hello lear11,

Please create a different ticket if you need support. You can do so by going to https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/mailchimp-for-wp. There is a form at the bottom of the page.

Once you create a new request I’ll be able to assist you there.
