    Hi Dan,

I’ve been using the previous version of DG and it was working fine until i updated to the 3.3.1 version recently. Now i can not see the files. I uploaded the pdf files to the page where the short code [DG] is suppose to find them to display like i did previously but now no luck. I’ve read the forum and tried other alternatives but still no luck.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi michael,

This is the second instance I’ve seen where the upgrade process to 3.3.1 has resulted in a corrupted options structure. We’re looking into what is happening, but in the interim would you mind uninstalling DG and re-installing? My hope is that this will resolve the issue, but I’ll be able to verify once you’ve done the re-install and pasted the same information I asked for above again.

Thanks for your understanding and sorry about the inconvenience!

    Hi Dan,
Uninstalling and re-installing the DG plugin worked. Everything seems to be working fine now. I appreciate your help with this. Thanks.

Well I’ve done it now. I had this issue too… The taxon value entered, “images”, is not valid.
After reading this post I deleted the plugin and reinstalled and naturally lost EVERYTHING. Any chance there is a table in my backkups I can visit to reclaim the info, even if it is flawed?

I need to add that I have a Database backup from last week if I knew what and how to restore it using myphp.

    Thanks.

    Hi John,

What exactly do you mean “lost everything”? Uninstalling will only delete cached thumbnails and a few DG-specific settings. If you reinstall it should just take a min or two to re-do the settings the way you had them — less if you didn’t have them customized at all.

Well, things started with me getting this message everywhere we used the plugin: The taxon value entered, “images”, is not valid.

We only use it to link PDF’s. Our site is a club site and it doesn’t get daily attention so the update came and went before we noticed the error messages.

Prior to doing anything all of the links in the thumbnail management tab pointed to resources it that it said didn’t exist. I don’t recall the exact syntax.

I ran regenerate thumbnails to no avail. The PDF’s are all in the media library.

Our short codes look like this:
    [dg descriptions=false attachment_pg=false images=true ids=3517]

After reading the note above, I deleted and reinstalled the plugin. The listed thumbnails in the thumbnail mgmt. tab went away and nothing has come back.

Still getting the error message on the pages.

I uploaded a new PDF but nothing has changed and by using its ID in the string listed above, the error message did not go away.

    Hope that helps.

Same exact issue here. Also uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. I’m receiving the following error:

The taxon value entered, “orderby”, is not valid.

In the body of my post, all I have is:

    [dg ids=2531,2529,2530]

I just upgraded to WP 4.2.4 if that helps… the settings for document gallery don’t save when I edit them, which I feel could be related.

    Hi jenjenut233 & John,

This is an odd issue. I’m looking into it, but since I cannot reproduce the issue on my test systems, I can’t promise how quickly I’ll be able to get a resolution.

If either of you can provide the two bits of additional debugging info it would definitely be helpful:
    * Is anything being logged in the PHP error log? If you are not familiar with how to access the log, the [Error Log Monitor plugin](https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/error-log-monitor/) will do all of the work for you.
    * If you enable DG logging Dashboard -> Settings -> Document Gallery -> Advanced, then reproduce the issue, are any errors or warnings logged?

    Thanks,
    Dan
