I downgraded to 2.0.5 so that I could export my old site and have installed the same version on my new site to import, but I just got this error:

    Site could not be imported!
Archive file is not compatible with the plugin! Please verify your archive file.

I’ve hit so many brick walls using this plugin. I even saw a link to convert the archive file compression because you guys had changed the algorithm, but that link is dead.

Please help – I’ve put my trust in this plugin to get my site across because all the reviews I saw are positive, but now I seem to be finding nothing but brick walls and other who are having the same problem.

    Hi kja03,

I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Archive file is not compatible with the plugin! Please verify your archive file. means your archive is corrupted. To ensure that it can be imported, the file must be able to be extracted.

What is the reason why you are not using the current version?

I contacted Godaddy last night and they changed the wp-content folder to 777 recursively for me. They advised against it though.

My import is hanging at 1% for over 10 mins so something is not working with this plugin – downloads like a dream though..

Godaddy mentioned that the Plugin, according to their notes, always had issues and rarely worked so i tried it on Mediatemple.com where i also host WP sites. The same thing – even after changing the permissions [777].

What could it be that is preventing the plugin from importing to Godaddy? I have plenty of space available and Godaddy has increased the upload limits on php.ini file for me. Any and all help is greatly appreciated…

    Hi icub4igook,

The problem with GoDaddy and Mediatemple.com is that they do not allow changing permissions of all files.
The new version that we are working on will resolve the issue.
I am sorry for the inconvenience.
