    A white screen usually indicates an error in pasting the code. Are you sure it’s been copied and pasted correctly into your file?

    This is my (nicked) code

    Changed encoding type from ASCII => UTF-8 – Still WSOD.

    I’m uploading to the root of my child theme folder.

    Maybe ‘[insert homeurl/author]’ is causing problems with BP enabled?

    you can try to enable wp_debug or check your php logs to see what is the error causes this.
