Need help installing a theme

  • I have yahoo web hosting and It came with WordPress. I want to install a different theme for my blog. I am having trouble with it. I do not know how to install it. Its winzip. I dont know how to zip the file and install it in my control panel with yahoo. If anyone can help, I would really appritiate it.

  • Do you have the ability to upload files to your web-host?

    I’m by no means an expert but since I was able to install themes myself to my yahoo account I thought I’d try to help.
    You need to first unzip the file to a folder on your computer. Then, using a program such as ftp, you upload the file to the ‘themes’ folder (located in admin-wp folder) in your directory. It will then show up when you go to the page to change your theme.

    I’m sure someone can give you a more exact/detailed/technical explanation but until then, maybe you can figure it out with my instructions! ??

    I mean the wp-content folder…not the admin folder. Sorry.
