How to get input from forms and output it on search results?

Hi everyone, I am new to WordPress.
I am trying to create a website which is specifically for my college’s students to easily display their academic information so employers could search for the right interns for their work (like monster.com but much simpler). I’ve created some forms on some of the pages but I have no idea at all on how to retrieve data from users and output it in the search page. I have no idea how databases work at all. I’m also having trouble on admin login/register users login and so on (basically anything to do with databases) but I would try to figure that one out. When I first setup wordpress I have already created a database on phpMyAdmin but I don’t know how to work with it. Can anyone help me? Or is there any plugins that I could use to simple things up?
