Enterprise valet pre-sale questions

  • Considering buying enterprise + valet service. Seems like a bargain, but…

    I see terrible reviews from people who claim to be WP experts and programmers saying that ID was a nightmare and too difficult. Then, I see reviews from people who claim to have almost zero technical skills saying ID was a breeze and a pleasure to use…

    Which is it? I’m confused.

    Is this just a case of poor expectation management resulting in disgruntled customers, or are these people just trolls? What is going on?

    Your website FAQ is rather sparse. Can you please give me a realistic overview of what I could expect if buying enterprise + valet service?

    I’m not a tech person and would struggle if it’s really as hard as some reviewers are saying.

    The IgnitionDeck crowdfunding plugins work very well for what they were designed for – running crowdfunding campaigns. The plugins have hooks which can be used to extend the functionality of the plugins but not all programmers use this and instead hack the plugin. But you don’t need to know how to code in order to use the plugins; some familiarity with WordPress is a great place to start.

    When you purchase the Valet service to go with your IDE plugins, we will

    1. install the plugins on your site (Do you have WP installed already? No? We’ll do that too.),
    2. install one of our themes of your choice,
    3. configure the plugin settings,
    4. create the required pages and menu items,
    5. set up your payment gateways,
    6. create a test user account and crowdfunding project,
    7. and test the payment gateway to make sure everything works properly.

    When all the set up and testing is complete, we hand the site back over to you along with documentation on what we have done. We also include a warranty period to answer any questions you might have.

    The valet service does not include customization of the theme or the plugins (i.e. creation of custom CSS or child themes, integration of custom payment gateways, or additional functionality).

    What we require from you is that you have web hosting that will support a WordPress installation (must have PHP 5.4+), have a merchant account for the payment gateway(s) of your choice, and provide the information we request in order to set up the site for you.
