Password reset says "key is invalid"

    Hello. I imported 1200 users using your plugin. The import worked fine, but we elected NOT to send them the notification email with their username and password because most of them were old users that are no longer active on the site. For users who are active, we directed them to use the Lost Password form to recreate their password. However, when they get the password reset link and click it, it says “Password key is invalid”. This only happens to users who were imported with your plugin. Regular users can reset their password with no problem.

    Do you know why this happened, and is there any way I can fix it?

    What strange, I have just seen the source code of WordPress (this part) and it seems like a problem with keys being generated when you try the link button to reset password.

    This have never happened in other installation and I know some users that do the same: set the password, not mail it and then tell user to recover.

    Tell me if you are able to solve it and sorry for not being able to solve it us.

    Hi Javier, thank you. Can you clarify what you mean about “a problem with keys being generated when you try the link button to reset password.” Is this a problem for all WordPress?

    Not sure, it seems that yes but if only users imported suffers this problem… it is really strange.

    Someone can clarify it?

    It is only imported users. I looked in the database and don’t see anything different about the imported users. I’m not sure who can clarify it.

    Yes, I think is not something about the plugin.

    This is really strange.
