    Hi there!

Plugin is working fine for a month now since i removed Ajax search pro! ??

What i would like to know is: how can i prevent the customer from offering prices for not buyable parent products?
Nearly all customers do not understand to choose a size variation first.

Maybe it would be better to guide the customer through a stepping process:

    1: click on make offer
    2: Size?
    3: amount?
    4: name?
    5: email?….

Or the offer button should be hidden since the customer chooses a variation.
Or did i get anything wrong?

For variable products the offer button shouldn’t show up until they’ve chosen a variation. Just like the add to cart button. You’re saying the offer button shows up before-hand..??

Can you let me know exactly how you have the product variations and parent stock settings configured?

    Hi!
Maybe you remember me. We had talked before because of the ajax conflict.
I have Set parent product to not manage Stock.
    Website is https://gpmoto.de

I was able to reproduce the fact that the offer button is showing up even without a variation selected. We’ll have to get that fixed and get an update released. We’ll do that ASAP.

I created an issue for this in our GitHub repo. You can follow that if you want to stay posted on updates to this particular issue.

There must be some sort of other conflict going on with your site. I looked into this more and I’m actually not able to reproduce it. The offer button does show up on mine, but when I click the button I get a message that tells me I have to choose a variation first.

On your site, I notice that if I go to your product and immediately click the offer button it does allow me to submit the offer. However, if I choose a variation, then set it back to the default (no variation chosen) and click offer, then it does give me the message that I have to choose a variation first.

So something about your site is causing that jQuery to not function correctly until after the variation is already selected. It’s a very odd issue, but it seems to unique to your site because it doesn’t happen on any of my test sites and I haven’t had this report from anybody else.

So I hate to say it, but again, we must have another theme or plugin conflict going on. Can you try again disabling stuff again and follow that pattern I mentioned to see if you can get the message about needing to choose a variation before switching a variation on/off?

    Does that all make sense?

    Good morning

I made a fresh install on a subdomain on the same server.
Only woocommerce, offers and advanced bulk edit are activated.
The offer button shows up without choosing a variation but does not allow to make an offer when i click on it. This is strange because it it is not the behaviour i expected.
Have a look for yourself: https://staging.gpmoto.de

After testing around a little i found out that when the parent product is out of stock, the offers button does not show up anymore. But it does not show up either when a variant is chosen.

i found out more: the behaviour you describe only occurs when the lightbox option is activated.

Ok, thanks for the updates. I’ll look into this more.

Did anyone find a solution to this? I have the exact problem described above.

@jason-tenji, did you try removing the lightbox option and using the regular one instead?

    jason-tenji

    (@jason-tenji)

I tried it by deselecting lightbox option and had it display in tabs. but same results. You will see my site https://www.tenji.com.au I currently have lightbox disabled (even though i would prefer to use the lightbox)

    (@angelleye)

Can you try disabling other plugins temporarily to see if the problem goes away?

    jason-tenji

    (@jason-tenji)

thanks for the quick support so far… its uncommon among other plugins haha

I disabled every plugin individually and tested and still had the issue. I then disabled every plugin except for woocommerce and offers for woocommerce and still had the issue ??

Im assuming it could be something within my theme but Im not sure how to find it. If I live preview the site using twentyfouteen theme it still allows to submit the form without selecting options but it also shows the “Selection Required: Select product options above” warning as well.

    Any ideas?

    Plugin Contributor angelleye

    (@angelleye)

That was going to be my next suggestion…trying a basic theme. The live preview isn’t always a great way to test things like that. If you can fully switch to a different theme that would be the best way to see.

I’m not trying to put blame elsewhere. It could very well be something we need to adjust, but we need to find the culprit so that I can reproduce it here. There must be something unique about that setup that we need to be able to configure here in order to reproduce it so that we can troubleshoot accordingly.

This is a Problem with the parent product.
If the parent product has Stock and offers and stock management are enabled for the parent product, the offer button will show up.
I recommend you to buy woocommerce advanced bulk edit where you can see every custom field of every product. There you will find the mistake.
