  • me too! I had to hide the plugin through the ftp.
Let me know asap. I lose all SEO details right now
    Giorgio

Sorry to hear that! Could anyone perhaps provide a more elaborate bug report, preferrably on GitHub? We’ve written some guidelines on how to write a good bug report here.

    Thanks

    Hello there,

    Same here on Multisite installation.
With debug I get this message:
Fatal error: Call to a member function get_queried_object() on a non-object in /***/wp-includes/query.php on line 43

On another standard WP site that the plugin was not active, there was no error (of course, but just in case this might be of interest).

PS: I reverted to previous version from backup by FTP and everything is fine until next update.

Same problem here. Just updated the plugin and my website just crashed with the following error code.

Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /home/ipadclub/public_html/mybeanbean.com/wp-includes/query.php on line 28

    My website address: https://www.mybeanbean.com.

Please help to provide guidelines to fix this ASAP.

    Thanks.

Also happening for me. Rolled back to the previous backup point.

What I did to fix this temporarily was login to my CPanel and using File Manager, I went to the Plugin folder and renamed the Yoast SEO folder.

This way, the plugin was deactivated and the website is now up and running again until a fix is provided.

    Thanks.

I’ve also experienced it this morning.

Looks like the $wp_query global is being corrupted.

TobyGr, I think that might very well be the problem, but I have no clear indication of anything in Yoast SEO causing that. Could you maybe get me a backtrace of the error and a list of plugins/themes/WP version/PHP version? I cannot reproduce.

My website is gone completely white from the update. Same with the login. Does anybody have any solution PLEASE???

KKerstin I’m afraid you’ll have to rename the wordpress-seo folder on your server by using FTP or the File Manager in your host’s control panel (if there is one).

Then wait for us to release an update to resolve this issue. So far, we have not come up with a solution since we are unable to reproduce the issue.

Okay thanks. I’ll do that now. I hope you find a solution soon.
Also, if you come up with an update, how can we install it if we can’t get into our websites? If we install the update via FTP will we lose all our SEO work?

KKerstin, you don’t have to worry about losing SEO settings. All settings and Post metadata remains in your database.

You can for the time being install WordPress SEO 2.2.1 in order to still have SEO functionality.

PS: Is there a way of reverting back to the previous version of the plugin without losing our keywords, etc?

Like I said, you will not lose any data when uninstalling the plugin and installing 2.2.1 or a newer version.

Just download the previous version 2.2.1 from here:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wordpress-seo/developers/
and upload it to your site’s plugin folder after having deleted the the existing SEO folder from there. Then just deactivate-activate again the plugin and you’ll get back your previous settings without problem.
