swaps the phone number, but messes up the href "tel: "

I have this code in my site:

<a href="tel:+4148775811">(414) 877-5811</a>

When I activate this plugin, and set (414) 877-5811 to be the number that gets replaced, this happens:

<a href="tel:<span class=" gawcc-number-swap"="">+4148775811"><span class="gawcc-number-swap">(414) 877-5811</span></a>

Also, take a look at these issues: https://scott.offord.me/c1R1 (screenshot) where some mentions of the phone number on the page are replaced, but others are not.

In the Plugin settings, I have the number as: (414) 877-5811 <~~ in that format (with the brackets and the dash.
