    Greetings all!

    I’m a relative newbie to WP and recently converted my 20 year old website to WP with the Blaskan theme. I don’t know how I managed to do it, but if you look at the very bottom left of the pages of my site at My Site you should see a text entry of

      Song image

    with a button below it. Up to this point I have been unable to find where to remove that from my site.

    I do have a little experience with CSS and html/php but am self taught. As I am just learning WP structure and have no technical training, can someone point me in the right direction to look for what needs to be changed to remove this unwanted text from beneath the footer? I’ve quickly looked at the functions.php file but didn’t notice anything there that needed to be altered.

    Thanks!
    Respectfully,
    dan

  • It looks it might be in a widget in your footer. Look at your widgets and see if you have a widget for the footer.

    If you have widgets in this area try removing them one at a time to find the one that causing your problem.

    I tried that, even removed all widgets. No change. I suspect it is in a widget php file for a mp3 player I’m using on only one page not listed in navigation menus. On the page where the player is, the text, which I now know is an image, is not displayed.

    You can try hiding it with custom css

    #dynamic-player-sidebar{

    display:none;
    }

    That sounds like it might work, but I don’t know which file to add that too. In the functions.php?

    Use a custom css plugin and add it to that https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/simple-custom-css/

    do you have jetpack custom css or a custom css plugin installed. If so you can add it there.

    If you working with a child theme you can add It in style.css. Don’t add it into the theme’s Style.css it will get over written the first time you update the theme.

    Thanks guys. I do have jetpack and have activated the custom css with it but I don’t see where to access it.

    In Appearance > Edit CSS https://jetpack.me/support/custom-css/

    That did it. Thanks again guys!!! As my childhood hero, Gomer Pyle (only joking) would say, Thank ya! Thank ya! Thank ya! Hopefully, with a little help I’ll learn my way around WP before too long.

    Oops! Before submitting this, I checked the page where the mp3 player is supposed to be and using the custom css removed the player, so I changed it back. Thank you anyway! At leastmI’ve got time to play with this now that I’m retired.
