• I’ve created four pages on my site at https://www.seamheads.com and they’re showing up in alphabetical order despite my best efforts to arrange them otherwise. I’ve tried ordering them in the page management section to no avail. My sidebar.php includes the command <?php wp_list_pages(‘sort_column=menu_order’); ?>, which, as I understand it, is supposed to order pages based on the order I assigned them in the page management section. I’ve even tried the “My Page Order: plugin, but nothing seems to work. I’m using the “Yakuter Tema 2.0” theme.

If anyone can help me with this I’ll be forever in your debt.

  • Don’t forget, if you use widgets (and seemingly, you do!) widgets over-write EVERYTHING that you code manually in the sidebar.
It’s an either or situation: manual sidebar or widgets.

You’re correct, I do use widgets. Does that mean there’s nothing I can do to reorder my pages?

Honestly, I don’t know. I don’t use widgets because I am a control freak and I want things to appear exactly as I coded, not as somebody thought that I might want ??
Although some Pages widgets should do the job for you.

I’m beginning to think I should be a control freak as well. ?? This stuff is giving me a headache. Thanks for your help. I take a look around and see what I can find.

By the way, I was able to establish a different page order by going to the actual widget and reordering my pages there. There’s a “sort by” function included in the widget that allows for ordering by “page title,” “page order,” or “page ID.” There’s also an exclusion function. If anyone else ever asks about page ordering when they’re using widgets, this is the easiest way. Had I checked the widget in the first place, I could have saved myself a few hours of searching for a solution. Oh well; it’s nothing a six-pack won’t fix. ??

Thank god I just found this. I can’t believe how long I have been staring and wondering why why why!

I think what threw me was that the page order worked at first when I added them in and then stopped. But it was all in the widget.
