MySQL hogging resources

  • All of a sudden MySQL is running at 90% to 180% CPU. The site is very slow, almost unusable. The site is using Woocommerce and has 2700 products, and 45000 orders in the system. I’ve tried check, analyze, and optimize the tables and that didn’t help. I backed up the database and moved it to another server and that immediately pegged at 100%. So the problem is the database.

    Any suggestions?

    Oh yeah, I tried deactivating all plugings (except woocommerce) and that didn’t help at all.

    Oh yeah, I also deleted all plugins including Woocommerce and that did help, so the problem is in the Woocommerce plugin/data, but I guess I suspected that already.
