A scheduler

Hi everybody!

I’d like to insert in my website an activity scheduler that users can self-manage once they have subscribed the website.
In particular, I need something that allow users with a certain role to add an event to the scheduler, providing date, hour and description, a limit to how much people can partecipate. On the other hand, the other users have to be able to subscribe every single event, without the possibility to edit it (in plain words, I don’t want anyone to edit entries created by others).

Is there any plugin, or any way to make it in jquery or similar, provided that I cannot handle this language so much?
