    I updated 20 sites to the latest version – 1.7.12 – this morning and it is having an affect all all 20 sites’ performance. It took me an hour to narrow it down to Sucuri Security – I’ve disabled it on several sites and their performance returned to normal (from taking 5-10 seconds to respond, both backend and front-end, to near instantaneous response). I’m not sure what’s causing it within the plugin, but it’s definitely related to the Sucuri update. I’m going to roll back to the previous version and see what happens.

    Rolled back to version 1.7.11 and site performance is fine.

    Same for me – this version put all my http processes into a run state, sending loads through the roof! Reverted to 1.7.11 and all is fine.

    Same problem here.

    I am going to investigate this right now.

    Yep, removed from my sites for the time being….and I was thinking of ditching Cloudflare and thinking of purchasing Sucuri ??
    Because had issues with Cloudflare.

    As a former CloudFlare user, I strongly encourage you to use Sucuri’s firewall – it blocked attacks that CloudFlare and even Incapsula couldn’t stop, for only $10 a month. Do not use this version of their plug-in though – stick with 1.7.11.

    Just adding my voice to the chorus… updating to 1.7.12 caused performance issues rolling back fixed the issue.

    I emailed Sucuri yesterday about the issue. No one responded to me ??

    @i-mmmk-i I am working right now to fix this issue, I will communicate with my co-workers in the development team to see if they have an idea of why my previous modifications after version “1.7.11” caused these issues, I will be updating this thread while I get more information.

    @yorman Thanks man! I really do appreciate it.

    For the people that are subscribed to this thread, I have submitted a commit to the development branch to add a new option in the “General Settings” panel to allow you to enabled/disable the DNS lookups executed by the plugin to determine if the site is behind CloudProxy [1].

    I am not completely sure if this is the root of the issue that you all are experiencing but is better than nothing. If anyone wants to give it a try then download the development version of the plugin from here [2]. I will continue reviewing the changes that I added after version “1.7.11” to see if there is anything else (besides the DNS lookups thing) that started this problem.

    @Yormam
    I am testing your version right now. Will let you know on the feedback in a bit.

    Tried the development version with DNS lookups disabled: no go. Still slow… disabling Sucuri fixes the issue. Have gone back to 1.7.11 again.

    Seemed to help and cut my website speed down by half from what it would go to with version 1.7.12 but still the performance is still giving problems on my side with around 20 second load time +. P.S using New Relic to monitor the load times.

    I just added another option in the general settings to disable the comment monitor [1] the option will be disabled by default. I will keep checking the code in search for more things like this added in version “1.7.12” that could have affected the performance of the plugin.
