Any alternatives to this new version with ads?

I’ve been using this plugin (and donating) for many years because it appears to be the only one that let’s me take the index.html code from an existing client’s site and stick it into the underConstruction plugin, so that their old HTML site stays online while the new WordPress site can be developed and viewed in the background.

Much to my dismay, as others have posted, it appears the project has been taken over by someone else and the latest update spams the WordPress dashboard with ads for SumoMe.

While I’d be glad to donate in order to remove the ads, I don’t see an option for that.

So now I’m on a quest to find an alternative for this plugin that has a similarly working Custom HTML feature that allows me to leave index.html in place with and old site while I work on the new one, and have the new WP site viewable during editing when logged in as admin.

Can anyone make recommendations?
