I’m using both Yoast SEO and Cleantalk. If I go to Yoast SEO > Settings > XML site maps, there’s a tab General which says ‘You can find the XML sitemap here’ followed with a button XML Sitemap. If I press that button, it leads me to the URL https://marcbijl.nl/sitemap_index.xml. Following this URL I get a yellow window with the text:

Regelnummer 163, kolom 18:			<script async type='text/javascript' src='https://marcbijl.nl/wp-content/plugins/cleantalk-spam-protect/cleantal

If I add www to the URL, and go to https://www.marcbijl.nl/sitemap_index.xml I get a yellow window with the text:

Fout tijdens laden van stijlblad: Er is een onbekende fout opgetreden (805303f4)https://marcbijl.nl/main-sitemap.xsl

Can you guys see my XML file? At which URL? And how can I send the file to you?

Hmm, wait, this is strange…

The things above happen while using Firefox 39 (up-to-date) on a MacBook Pro. Visiting the URL https://marcbijl.nl/sitemap_index.xml in Chrome 44 (up-to-date) everything seems fine: I get a white window, no errors, and when viewing the source I get this – which seems pretty allright to me:

Hmm, and visiting https://marcbijl.nl/sitemap_index.xml in Safari 8 nothing happens… No errors, but no white window/page or whatsoever; just nothing happens…

Allright: in Safari there is something happening at https://marcbijl.nl/sitemap_index.xml, just didn’t notice it until I viewed the source via the menu (the right mouse click for some reasom did not work on this xml page).

Viewing the source, everything seems to be fine in Safari too.

So, it might be a Yoast SEO with Firefox issue?

No I switched back to the default theme (Twenty Fifteen), and then I get this message in Firefox on the xml page:

It seems error occurs when plugins produce wrong code for XSL files, like spaces at the beginning, or blank lines, etc

Forgive me if I’m wrong, I’m not a coder at all, but this is what keeps coming back in the discussions about the issue…

No I turned off all plugins, tried to view the URL https://marcbijl.nl/sitemap_index.xml but it says: Page not found.

Turned on all plugins again, still: Page not found.

So, now my XML sitemap’s gone. No idea how to get it back…

Turned off option for sitemaps in Yoast SEO, saved it.
