• Hi,

I have two established blogs that were set for autoupdate. When I access either of them I get the WP Install screen asking me to pick a language. The URL, not including my actual site is: /wp-admin/install.php.

The following happens on two different WP sites.

I select English and I get the “Information Needed” screen where I input the site name a email address. After entering those I get a LONG list of errors, eg,
“WordPress database error: [Unknown storage engine ‘InnoDB’]
    CREATE TABLE wp_users ( ID bigint(20) unsigned NOT NULL auto_increment, user_login varchar(60) NOT NULL default ”, user_pass varchar(64) NOT NULL default ”, user_nicename varchar(50) NOT NULL default ”, user_email varchar(100) NOT NULL default ”, user_url varchar(100) NOT NULL default ”, user_registered datetime NOT NULL default ‘0000-00-00 00:00:00’, user_activation_key varchar(60) NOT N”

At the bottom of that screen it says, “Success!
WordPress has been installed. Were you expecting more steps? Sorry to disappoint.”

I’m provided with a new PW for the admin account. (And so would be ANYONE who happens onto my site.)

I click “Login” and I loop back to the WP Install pick a language screen and it just keeps looping.

What is going on? Was I hacked? Is this a screwup of the new WP version?

    How do I fix this?

try MANUAL updating. Download a fresh copy of the WordPress .zip file to your computer, unzip it, and use that to copy up all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory. You may need to delete the old copies of files & folder on your server before uploading the new ones.

Read the Manual Update directions first.

I tried the Manual update as suggested by Tara, following the instructions provided via the link cited.

I still have the exact same problem.

Any further thoughts on what is wrong and how I can fix it?

    thanks so much.
