    Hi David,

I just noticed that sometime recently, text I was mapping into the WordPress Description field no longer has the HTML tags that are in the image metadata. In this case I am mapping 2#120 Caption or Abstract into the Description field.

    The IPTC data has the
and <p></p> tags in it which used to come through for formatting in captions in the MLA galleries. Now these are being filtered out and are not showing in the Media library or the galleries.

Do you know what has changed or why this is happening?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

It’s good to hear from you again, and thank you for starting a new topic with your report.

I am traveling until August 12 and do not have access to my development system. I do not remember making a specific change that would account for this difference, but I can investigate further when I return home. I will post an update here when I have made some progress. Thanks for your patience in the interim.

I have uploaded a new MLA Development Version dated 20150812. This version contains a fix for the defect you found in accessing IPTC/EXIF values with embedded HTML tags; thank you for bringing it to my attention!

You can find step-by-step instructions for using the Development Version in this earlier topic:

    MLA errors when using plugin

If you have a chance to try the Development Version, let me know if it resolved your problem and if you have any other trouble with it.

I will leave this topic unresolved until the fix goes out in the next MLA version. Thanks again for your patience and for alerting me to the problem.

    Hello David,

It worked and the tags are back. Thanks so much.

I have released MLA version 2.14, which contains the fix for this problem.

I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have any problems with HTML tags in the IPTC/EXIF values. Thanks again for your help in finding and reporting the problem.
