When I logged into WordPress this morning there was an update for the Redwaves Lite theme from 1.0.6 to 2.0.0. which I use on https://choicesmakesuccess.com/I completed the update but since then my sidebar widgets are not displaying live on my website. I have removed them and re-added them but it did not work. The sidebar and the widgets appear to be active inside WordPress but they will not display live. I use the same them on another website but I did not do the update and I have no problems with the second site.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Asmi,

I wanted to let you know that going into the appearance-customize-design and layout and changing the placement of the sidebar did not work. However changing the code in the sidebar.php did to a certain degree. In order to get my sidebar displaying on all my posts and pages I had to edit every page & post, it is only after editing that all of my content that the sidebar will show up.

As I mentioned earlier I have a second website using the same theme but I have chosen not to to the update.
Please advise when this issue has been fixed. If it is not fixed soon I will consider changing themes.

I should also mention that the update also removed all my codes for google adsense and I had to reinstall them also.

Suckerfish menu is gone from 2.0.0. How can I get that back. Thank you.

Pardon another problem I am encountering, logo image is being resized very small though this may be a style sheet problem. I’m looking.

The logo size is looking perfect on my testing site. I think you have done some CSS editing that caused this issue.

What kind of editing have you made to your posts & pages? you cant enable/disable the sidebar on specific posts or pages unless you use a plugin or edit the theme PHP code. If you choose No Sidebar from the Sidebar Setting the sidebar will be hided from all posts & pages.

As I mentioned earlier I have a second website using the same theme but I have chosen not to to the update.
Please advise when this issue has been fixed. If it is not fixed soon I will consider changing themes.

In version 2.0.3 I have fixed the stretched thumbnail bug on mobile devices & the Hidden Sidebar widgets bug. Also I have made some style adjustment.
Please report any bug you found so I could fix it. I am doing my best to respond to support queries, fix bugs & develop new themes and this is really taking too much time so sometimes I found myself not making enough testing before releasing new updates. Your support is much appreciated.

I should also mention that the update also removed all my codes for google adsense and I had to reinstall them also.

Upon any theme update, all files get updated and so you lose all the changes you have made. Best solution to this problem is to use a plugin instead of injecting the Adsense code directly into the theme files. I was told not to implement a feature that will help the theme user to add Ad code or Analytics code ..etc from the Customizer or Options panel because this is a Plugin Territory and in order for my themes to get approved & released at www.ads-software.com I must obey the WordPress Theme Development Guidelines. And I really like these guidelines! they are making our life easier ??

    Hope I helped you!
    Regards!

    Hi Asmi,
I waited to do an update on the redwaves theme for my second site newfoundlanddogsonly.com until you had fixed the sidebar issue. I did not want to experience the same issue again.

But guess what…I have. There is no sidebar displaying on my website. The fixes you offered the other day when I experienced this with my first site are not working!

Forget my last comment. The update only removed my widgets to the inactive section. I simply had to drag them back to the sidebar.
Sorry I acted in haste but thank-you for the updates!

    Hi Asmi,

I am still having issues with the sidebar on https://choicesmakesuccess.com.

Today I added 3 text widgets which show up while I am logged into my site. But if I log out of WordPress and access my site via Google search the new text widgets are not displaying.

    Sorry to keep bothering you.

I think you have Super Cache plugin or W3 Total Cache plugin installed on your WordPress site and you have enabled the option “Don’t cache pages for known users” so when you visit your website when logged out you will see a cached version of your page and not the real one. So if you are using a caching plugin please clear the cache.
