    good afternoon,

    Been experimenting with your plugin today and really like the look and feel. Everything seemed to be up and running and then I came across a page that seems to be having some additional coding added into it.

    No idea where the span class is coming from but it is just making a link partway through a paragraph.

    `your enterprise and give you a competitive adv
    <span class=”shared” data-text=”antage. But costs rise uncontrolla” data-id=”2″>
    bly each and every year. Employees often have no stake in learning to make smarter healt`

    When I disable the plugin it goes away, and re-enable it comes back. Curious as well…I have the same paragraph in two places on the page, and the code gets inserted in the exact same place both times.

    I have done a few “tests” — and it seems that it always happens at the start of “antage”. If I misspell the word as advntage, then there is no issue. If I misspell it as advvantage, it still starts the span class at the “antage”. Very odd….

    Hiya William,

    this code is being inserted as part of the selection-sharer power-up in the plugin. As soon as someone selects a piece of text and shares it, we put a small wrapper around it to highlight it. This way other people reading the text will notice that a text snippet has been shared which encourages them to click on that highlighted text and make them want to share the text as well.

    In your case is the span class around the text messing up with your theme?

    Cheers!

    Ahh yes — that seems like the most likely of scenarios!

    Any way to disable that? Great idea and functionality, and while we like the ease of just highlighting and sharing, we do not want to have markup all over the pages like this.

    Hiya William,

    at the moment there is no way to disable this functionality within the power-up. You could choose not to use that particular power-up for the moment while we look into adding it to the settings options.

    For the moment, it is added to our “to build” feature list.

    Cheers!

    We put this on our todo list!
