Author avatar in side bar

Hi there,

I have a question about the author box and avatar as a sidebar widget. When I try to put it in the sidebar, I get a strange kind of box which asks me to upload an avatar.

Is there a way of getting the avatar and author box that appears below the port, appearing in the sidebar instead?
