Specify image dimensions of placeholder image

The placeholder image should scale (in the browser) to the specified dimensions of the original image. It does not alter the width/height attributes.

The problem is not the scaling of the image. It is a minor error in GTmetrix which states that all images should have “width” and “height” attributes specified.

The only way to achieve this is to enter the exact pixel size of the image. Now these dimensions are not specified.

It is such a minor issue, but because I have many images on some articles it has a negative affect on my load time.

All images should have the width and height attributes defined (width and height of the original image of course). It helps the browser to draw the page without waiting for the images to load.

If GTMetrix complains that the placeholder image does not match the defined width and height attributes, you can ignore it. You most definitely want the original width/height, not the placeholder width/height.

Can I add that in GTMetrix in help thay also say

Page Speed currently only detects image dimensions that are specified via the image attributes. If you are specifying the dimensions via CSS, then you can safely ignore this recommendation.

So you can safety ignore this
