    Hi,

I would love some help on a couple of questions I have regarding my contact form.

The first customization I would like to do is have a drop down menu where based on the selection the person made will determine which options show up underneath that are related to the specific selection. An example of this is located here: https://www.bcapphoto.com/contact/

If you click on the drop down box and pick an option fields appear underneath based on your selection.

The next customization option I am looking for also is reflected on the above link. I would like fields to be in multiple columns rather than just one single column.

Thank you for any help you can offer ??

  • Looks like you are looking for Conditional Logic which is not available directly in the Contact Form 7 plugin.

It can be done via custom programing but you would need to be rather skilled at WordPress development using PHP and/or jQuery.

Some of the premium Form plugins do offer some Conditional Logic including Gravity Forms and Ninja Forms.

The form is your example is made using Gravity Forms

    RE: next customization

The actual look of CF7 forms on your website will depend largely on the current WordPress theme used and the CSS styling that theme applies to standard HTML form elements.

To put your “fields to be in multiple columns” you would need to edit the CSS style sheets used by your WordPress theme.

See Styling Contact Form for a general explanation of styling CF7 forms using CSS.

There is a link at the bottom of the page to a comprehensive and detailed article on Styling Contact Form 7 Forms. The article shows people, with suitable HTML & CSS skills, how to change the appearance of their Contact Form 7 Forms to meet their particular requirements.

    Hi davmerit,

    Thank you for your help.

Those links were helpful, with some further reading into CSS I was able to accomplish what I wanted to with columns. ??

You could consider using Contact Form 7 Skins to style your Contact Form 7 Forms.

You can now use the add-on CF7 Skins Ready to make a 2 column contact form.
