• I have just updated my www.ads-software.com to the latest version.

I previously had a web developer – who unfortunately did not finish this job – so I am left to sort it.

    I have a .com site (krystalscanlon.wordpress.com) and now I have a .org one (krystalscanlon.co.uk)

I’m waiting on a new designer to complete the theme for me – as the current one was loaded by my former developer and not what I originally asked for.

In the meantime, the migration is causing problems:

    – lots of content/posts is missing: on my .com version I have approx 189 posts and on the .org there’s only just over 100 posts – I don’t know how to rectify this.

    – the current content which has been moved over includes images, text, image slideshows, contact form, image grids, etc.

    – on the .org site, some of the posts appear really messed up” the images all overlap each other and the text – causing it all to be visually impaired and completely unreadable – how can I fix this?

I am at the point I am questioning should I just delete everything and start again?! Or delete all contents and start again?!

I understand a lot of developers want all the full cost of migration up front, but my now concern is, I paid my former developer upfront, and this is the mess I am left with. I’m concerned about handing over the full 100% cost upfront because I want to make sure the work gets done, and if these issues arise, then they will fix them – something my former developer refused to do.

Also, is it best to get the correct theme up first and THEN migrate, or should I do the migration while I am waiting?

I have the plugin: All-in-one WP Migration

    Thanks!

  • Migration can be done in many ways, and since your developer is not here to explain how he did it and what problems did he face, it will be hard to guess what’s wrong.

Anyway, do you see the missing posts in MySQL database?
