Wrong Author name (even though permalink is correct)

what theme are you using?

what code are you using to output the author name and link?

Amplify theme.
Not sure about the code…

I just installed the theme to test the issue – quite definitively an error in the theme.

the error is in this line in /inc/template-tags.php, in the function amplify_posted_on():

'<span class="author vcard"><a class="url fn n" href="' . esc_url( get_author_posts_url( get_the_author_meta( 'ID' ) ) ) . '">' . esc_html( get_the_author_meta('display_name', 1) ) . '</a></span>'

exactly this section:

get_the_author_meta('display_name', 1)

should probably be:

get_the_author_meta('display_name', get_the_author_meta( 'ID' ))

please post directly in your theme’s support forum at https://www.ads-software.com/support/theme/amplify#postform to inform the thtme’s developer

Weird, when I changed that, my website stopped working and it showed only a white page…

might be a typo, maybe a bracket missing ….
