• WordPress’s own image gallery function allows for the gallery to be responsive to the browser. So a 4 x column by 2 x row would always stay like that whether page is viewed on a desktop or mobile browser. The thumbnails simply expand/contract in size to fit the browser, remain center and with padding automatically adjusted accordingly. It looks really neat but it doesn’t offer an image scroll function.

I can’t see how to get NextGen’s Gallery plug-in to act in the same simple way. If I try the replicate the same 4 x 2 layout, it looks fine on a desktop browser but then rearranges thumbnails to 3 x 3 on an iPad, and 2 x 3 on an iPhone. All I want is for thumbnails to act in the same way as the WP equivalent – remain in the layout set, and just resize (with/without spacing) accordingly. I’ve got as far as editing CSS to center gallery but stuck beyond that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@tea Cosy – What you are describing for “WordPress’s own image gallery function allows for the gallery to be responsive” is generally going to be a theme related function … we are looking at the NextGEN Gallery layouts when a specific number of columns is set to better adapt when moving to different viewport sizes.

Please feel free to share your thoughts and ideas on this as a Feature Request item here: https://nextgen-gallery.com/feature-voting/ so we can take those into consideration as well.

    Thanks!
