• I just upgraded to 2.3, and now when I try to upload an image it says this:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 2344 bytes) in /home/tiffanyb/public_html/blog/wp-admin/includes/image.php on line 37

Is this something on my server side, or is it a WP error?

    Thanks!

  • Server. Need to increase the PHP memory.

    Okay, then a follow-up question…

(I did search, found mine is configured to 8 mb as well, and contacted the host about raising it).

BUT – If the PHP Memory allocation is the maximum size for a given script to run, how can it be maxed out like that? Surely the “upload a photo” routine isn’t using any more memory than it did yesterday…

Thanks for helping me get my head around this! ??
