hootsuite/facebook URL issue

  • Weird issue with Facebook – seems they do not like the URL of my events and when plugged into to Hootsuite – instead of getting a pic and event preview I get a grey box that says “Check This Link Out”. Hootsuite gave me sort of a fix, but I am curious if anyone else has been having issues and if there is something I can do on website end to fix this

    It’s possible that your theme could be having some weirdness with its markup and/or use of the og: meta tags that’s complicit here –?if possible, and this is an essential feature for your project, it might be worthwhile to try temporarily activating a default theme like Twenty Fifteen. Then, try sharing an Event URL again and see what gets generated….

    May not be an issue, but I’ve encountered a few similar issues in the past on our Pro forums and in some cases it was because of the theme’s markup itself.
