Trapped in maintenance mode

  • I just tried to upgrade my multisite installation to 4.3. But it stopped in the middle of upgrade process, and hence shows “Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute” forever. How do I repair the installation? since now I cannot access any of sites within the installation.

    Hi,

    To clear out the maintenance mode, you need to access the file system and remove the file .maintenance from the WordPress root directory.

    You might also want ot check if there are any errors in your logs as to why the upgrade process stopped before completing successfully.

    I have the same issue, but the .maintenance file is not in the root directory. Is there anywhere else I can find it?
