I had some malware on my site that Sucuri cleaned out for me. Everything seems to come up clean now but I’m trying to understand the Wordfence Live Traffic reports.

When I visit an existing page, it says

[Country] left https://mysite.com/ and tried to access non-existent page https://mysite.com/%3C?php%20bloginfo(%27stylesheet_url%27);%20echo%20%27?%27%20.%20filemtime(%20get_stylesheet_directory()%20.%20%27/style.css%27);%20?%3E

I get tons off these from my own visits and from others. Also, when I try to use the social sharing buttons on my site, the text reads “Your are being redirected” instead of showing the actual page’s meta data (image, site name and description). I hope that makes sense.

I don’t understand why I’m getting these “redirects’ to nonextistent pages without actually leaving the main page.

It sounds like part of your theme is probably not working correctly — it looks like that line should just load the stylesheet and show the date on the end. (Since it’s not working right, browsers try to load that as a filename from your server as if it were a css file, so it generates a “404” error that Wordfence logs.)

If you have modified your theme’s files (or if you’re working on a child theme or custom theme), you can probably find this code in the header file, or possibly in the theme’s functions.php, to fix it.

If you’re using a standard theme and haven’t modified any files, you may be able to just reinstall the theme to fix it. If not, I would check with the theme author to see if this is a problem on their end.

I’m not sure about the social sharing buttons — you might also be able to fix that by reinstalling the plugin you use for sharing.

Weird, I have the same issue with a brand new installation of everything.
And based on this conversation, I blew out (deleted the entire theme with filezilla) and re-installed the virtue Theme but I still get the same dumb errors.

This is from my chrome incognito visit where I had no issues with any of the pages I visited worked great but my Wordfence live traffic still gives many of these errors as follows: Alameda, United States left https://treasureshopbooty.com/ and tried to access non-existent page

But as the visitor I never got any 404 or had any issues. I’m guessing it’s a false positive at this point….

    Regards,
    James
